I have been seeing all kinds of pictures floating around on the internet about how people only run from things.
Exhibit A.
.
Well here's what I have to say to all those people who only run from things:
I don't run from things. I run for things. I run for fun. I run for fitness that will lead to a better life. I run for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I run for the LUNGevity Foundation to raise awareness that lung cancer doesn't just affect smokers. I run for after school programs for inner city kids in Kansas City, Missouri. I run for all those reasons and more. I think that more people should stop running from things and start running for things.
As you (and everyone else in MO) talks about the perfect weather... it is snowing/sleeting out here! I am so sick of running inside, but I just don't have it in me to run outside in nasty weather anymore.
ReplyDeleteI do feel bad for you. We have been so luky to have such a mild winter.
DeleteI started running for CASA of SW Illinois. You're an inspiration, Michelle! Here's a question. What do you do about running with a cold? Power through? Wait it out? Suggestions?
ReplyDeleteI would definitely wait to run till it passed. When I have a cold, or sinus infection, or things of that nature, I will do Yoga or Pilates or something like that at home. That way you are still active and working your muscles, but you don't have to worry about overtaxing your body when you already don't feel well. And if you are super tired, don't worry about it that day. If you are itching to get out and run though, I would stay indoors until it passed.
